Thank You for Viva la Verve February Wk 3

I made a couple of thank you cards for my brother as he requested them to give to the doctor and hospital where he recently had back surgery.  He is a "cowboy" and wanted western theme cards.  I followed Viva la Verve February Wk 3 on the the first card, but altered it a little to add the sentiment and didn't add any twine.
Viva la Verve February 2015 Week 3 Sketch Sketch designed by Stacey Schafer #vivalaverve #vlvsketches #cardsketches #vervestamps
The card base and mats are MFT Natural CS and the DSP is from Giddy Up by Carta Bella.  The  image is from Inkadinkado Horses.  The sentiment is from SU Four You.  Both are stamped in SU Soft Suede ink. The image is cut with MFT Circle Stax 1 and Circle Stax 2.

For this card I used the same papers and the image is from MFT Wild, Wild West (discontinued) stamped in SU Crumb Cake ink.  I used an EK Success corner rounder.  I did the sentiment on the computer and hand cut the banner.

Thinking of You for Just Us Girls Color Week

This is my card for this week's Just Us Girls Challenge #281.  This is such a pretty color combo, I just had to play along.
My card base and mat are MFT Natural CS.  The white panel is embossed with LifeStyle Crafts Courtyard 1 EF.  The sentiment from SU Sincere Salutations (retired) is stamped in SU Night of Navy ink.   The mat is cut with Spellbinders Label 17 die.  I traced the inside of the die on the white and hand cut it.  I did some doodling around the edges with a marker.  The flower is cut from SU Pink Pirouette with MFT Layered Rose dies.  I shaped the petals with my needle nose pliers (a technique a saw a couple of years ago, but can't remember where).  The center is cut with a die from MFT Prima Donna Petals die from Night of Navy CS, as well as the MFT Leaf-filled Flourish.

I am also linking my card to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.

Seize the Birthday - Make It Masculine

It's Thursday and time for a new challenge over at Seize the Birthday.  This week we have a "Toppings" option to make it masculine.

Here is my masculine birthday card:

I used the Fab Friday #58 sketch for my card.

My card base, mat and banner are some DCWV textured CS from my stash.  I used the SU Decorative Dots EF on the white panel.  The blue DSP is from a mat stack by The Paper Studio from Hobby Lobby.  I stamped the image from Our Daily Bread Designs "The Wave on the Sea" in Mememto Tuxedo Black in on X-Press It Blending Card and colored it with Copics.  The white on the water is done with a white gel pen.   I added the clouds with a scallop punch, and SU Bashful Blue ink and cut it out with a Spellbinders Label 18 die.  I cut the ends off so it would fit the layout better.  The sentiment is from SU Teeny Tiny Wishes (retired) and punched with the SU Word Window Punch.  The image panel and sentiment are mounted with foam tape.

You need to check out all the fabulous creations by my teammates over at Seize the Birthday.
I hope you will be inspired to join us.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Christmas Card Challenges - Anything Goes

Good morning my friends.  It is Sunday and time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges.  This week it is "Anything Goes" for your Christmas card.  This is my card:

I used SU Watercolor Winter for my poinsettia, stamped in black on SU Cherry Cobbler CS, and the leaves, stamped on SU Wild Wasabi CS.  I fussy cut them out and inked the edges of the flower.  The sentiment from Verve's Weary World is stamped in Wild Wasabi ink on a Spellbinders Label 17 die cut.  The DSP was loose in my box, so not sure who makes it.  The mat is Cherry Cobbler and the card base is MFT Smooth White.  I used SU Cherry Cobbler Seam Binding ribbon and added small pearls to the flower center and 3 larger pearls in the bottom right corner.  The flower and sentiment panel are mounted with foam tape.

I hope you will check out all the fabulous cards by my teammates over at Christmas Card Challenges and be inspired to play along with us this week.

Thanks for Making My Day Awesome

I combined two challenges to make my card: Just Us Girls - use burlap and Viva la Verve February sketch from Week 1.

I used this DCWV Printed Burlap Stack from JoAnn's for the burlap.  I love the different prints on it.  The card base and mat are SU Crumb Cake.  The white panel is embossed with Sizzix Dot Swirl EF.  The sentiment from Verve Better Together is stamped in SU Soft Suede ink, as is the frame from Verve Tag Time (on sale right now).  I cut around the edge of the frame so it would fit in the Verve Curvy Bookplate die.  The sentiment and the vertical banner are mounted with foam tape.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Christmas Card Challenges - Snowman

Good morning friends.  It is Sunday and time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges and this week we are using a snowman on our cards.

The cute snowman is a very old stamp from Close to My Heart that I have had for ages.  I stamped him on X-Press It Blending Card and colored him with Copics.  I paper pieced the hat and scarf from light blue paper and colored the stripes with a dark blue marker  I cut him out with a Spellbinders oval and sponged ink around the edges before removing the die.  I added molding paste to the snow at the bottom and used a clear glitter pen on the flakes around the image (which doesn't show up in the photo).  The mat and Spellbinder Scallop Oval are SU Midnight Muse.  The sentiment from MFT Hugs Snowman is stamped in Midnight Muse ink on a die cut from MFT Blueprints 2.   The DSP is from American Crafts Jack Frost 6x6 pad.  The card base is MFT Smooth White CS.

My teammates have created some great snowman cards to inspire you over at Christmas Card Challenges.  I hope you will play along with us this week.

Happy, Happy Birthday

I used MFTWSC215 for my layout and made a birthday card for a friend.
I saw this technique here on Barbara Anders blog Paper Pursuits.  She also has a video tutorial.  I love the way it turned out.  I  used the  new MFT Harlequin Stencil and the new Summer Splash ink, inked the stencil and ran it through my Big Shot.  I used a die from MFT Blueprints 12 to cut the stitched circle out and stamped the background with MFT Cheesecloth Background and SU Smokey Slate ink.  I stamped off first so it would be a soft background.  The flower is made with MFT Upsy Daisy dies and Summer Splash CS.  I inked the edges of the petals to give it a little dimension, and added a white enamel dot to the center.  The leaves are cut from SU Pistachio Pudding and MFT Royal Leaves die.  The sentiment from MFT PI Happy Banner is stamped in Summer Splash ink and a banner cut with a die from MFT Blueprints 2.  The card base is MFT Smooth White and the side strip is Summer Splash.

Thanks for stopping by.  Have a wonderful day.

Love You for MFTWSC214 and JUGS Love challenge

This is my card for this week's MFTWSC214.   I used MFT Peace, Love, Joy dies for the sentiment.  The "you" was made by cutting joy apart and I cut a second y and altered it to make the u.  They are cut from SU Rose Red CS.  The arrow and the arrow DSP were cut with MFT Blueprints 13.  I made the arrow longer.  I used MFT Pierced Circles and Circles Stax 2 to make the half circles.  The white is embossed with Darice Heart Background EF.  The arrow paper is from SU Stacked With Love Paper Stack and the black is SU Basic Black.  I mounted the Love with small pieces of foam tape.  I added 3 small enamel dots by Recollections and my card was done.

Happy Sunday morning friends.  It is time for a new challenge at Christmas Card Challenges and this week it is White on White.  I had to study a little on this and did use a hint of color - the snowflake by The Paper Studio Spare Parts has a touch of pale greenish blue and I put a punched glitter paper snowflake underneath.  I also matted the embossed layer with the glitter paper.  I used a Snowflakes and Swirls EF by Darice.  The sentiment from an Inspired by Stamping set is embossed with silver embossing powder.  The card base and white layers are Image Plus CS from Sam's.

I hope you will check out all the fabulous creations by the design team and play along with us this week over at Christmas Card Challenges.

Silhouette Challenge #22

Hello my crafty friends.  Today I am sharing a project I made for a door prize for our High School Class Reunion this weekend.  I used my Silhouette Cameo and the A2 Lori Whitlock Card/Magazine Holder & Sleeve from the Silhouette Store.  I did not make the sleeve though as I wanted the included handmade cards to show.  I used SU Basic Black for the base and the DSP is from a Recollections Simply Pastel pad.  I added the border using a Martha Stewart border punch and some SU Lost Lagoon ribbon.  I loved making this project and will be making more (to keep).

I am entering it in the Silhouette Challenges #22 - 3D Item for your Craft Room (this would be in my craft room except I am giving it as a gift. :) )

Thanks for stopping by and taking a look.  Have a wonderful day.

Happy Crafting,

I made a card for my great-grandson's 5th birthday using this week's My Favorite Things Sketch Challenge.  I stamped the cute PI Cowboy (sorry, it is no longer available) on X-Press It Blending Card, colored him with Copics, and then fussy cut him out. I mounted him with foam tape on some MME woodgrain paper.  The bottom edge is punched with the SU Scallop Border punch.  The sentiment is from the same set. I hand cut the banner and added the horseshoe and star diecuts from the same cowboy set.  The red check DSP is from Farm House Fair Skies 6x6 pad and the blue DSP is from DCWV Mango Frost mat stack.  The mats are SU Very Vanilla and the card base is MFT Natural CS.

Merry Monday #143 - Carollers/Music

This is my card for Merry Monday #143 challenge - music theme or carollers.

I looked through my stamps and found this pretty angel stamp that I had never used.  It is a clear mini stamp by Inkadinkado, Holiday Assortment.
I stamped the image in Versamark ink and used Ranger Detail Gold embossing powder.
This photo shows the gold embossing better. It is so pretty in person.

The card base and Spellbinders Square Scallop are MFT Electric Red CS. The image panel is mounted with foam tape.  The white panel is embossed with Sizzix Dot Swirl EF, which kind of matches the swirls in the border of the image.  I added some gold twine and a white poinsettia from an older CTMH Mistletoe Assortment pack.

I am also linking my card to Simon Says Stamp Wednesday challenge - Anything Goes.
